Chandigarh, July 30: Haryana is intensifying preparations for the Supreme Court of India’s “Samadhan Samaroh 2026.” Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi has directed all Administrative Secretaries to promptly identify cases suitable for amicable settlement before the nationwide Special Lok Adalat, scheduled for August 21 to 23.
In a communication to Administrative Secretaries, the Chief Secretary emphasised the need for proactive participation from all departments to ensure the initiative’s success. The program aims to promote mediation, reduce avoidable litigation, and expedite the resolution of pending disputes. Departments must complete the identification process within a week. A review meeting is scheduled for August 3, which all Administrative Secretaries are required to attend in person.
This initiative is part of a nationwide effort by the Supreme Court to promote consensual dispute resolution through Special Lok Adalats. Departments have been asked to identify cases suitable for mediation and to coordinate with the Haryana State Legal Services Authority and District Legal Services Authorities for resolution.
Sh. Rastogi emphasised that timely coordination and active participation by all departments will help reduce litigation, improve administrative efficiency, and provide faster relief to citizens awaiting resolution of long-pending disputes.
